The Team
John Murray
Managing Director, Consultant
John brings more than 35 years of financial services experience to his work at Elements Consulting — spanning capital markets, wealth management leadership, advisor development, and practice management. It is a combination that is rare in this industry and central to what makes his perspective distinctive.
His career began on the institutional side of Wall Street, where he traded more than $2 trillion in bonds with primary dealers. That foundation — built on markets, risk, and the discipline of execution — continues to inform the way he thinks about business, leadership, and the value of process done well.
John later moved into wealth management with Morgan Stanley, where he held a series of advisor development and leadership roles, including Business Development Manager, internal Financial Advisor Coach, and Associate Market Manager for the Greater Philadelphia Market. In each capacity, he worked alongside advisors and leadership teams to modernize practices, sharpen business strategy, strengthen leadership, and build enterprises designed to scale with intention. He holds the Registered Corporate Coach™ (RCC) and Certified Financial Planner® (CFP) designations.
At Elements Consulting, John draws on that full arc of experience to help wealth management professionals think more clearly about where they are, where they want to go, and what it takes to close the gap. His approach is practical, grounded, and advisor-centric — focused on creating structure, improving execution, deepening client relationships, and building the kind of consistency that compounds over time.
Originally from the New York City area, John now lives in Lewes, Delaware, with his wife, Debbie. Outside of work, he is an avid lacrosse, golf, and pickleball enthusiast — at home on the field, the course, and the court.
